Hi! We're Samantha and Fay.
We've been friends for 20 years -- meeting our first semester of college. We've created this online Parenting and Lifestyle Blog together. We hope you find the content relatable, fun and thoughtful as you navigate through everyday life.
10 Things About Samantha:
-
I'm a wife and mother of three.
-
I'm married to my high school sweetheart.
-
I've lived in the Midwest and Southern Plains my entire adult life although I was born and raised for most of my childhood on the East Coast(ish).
-
I've enjoyed writing and reading for as long as I can remember.
-
I'm Catholic.
-
I hold a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in educational administration.
-
In addition to wife and mom, I serve as a higher education professional and educator...and I write regularly (hence the blog's name).
-
I love coffee, the sound of my daughters laughing (it usually means they aren't fighting), a freshly sharpened pencil, the beach, working out, finishing a great book and the feeling of hope.
-
My main pet peeves are the sound of chewing when it's close to my ear, people who act entitled and the scarcity mentality.
-
I do not have a bucket list.
10 Things About Fay:
-
I’m a wife and mom of two.
-
I’m a total Midwesterner, but I love to travel.
-
I have two English degrees, a B.A. in Creative Writing and a M.A. in Literature.
-
I have worked in higher education for almost 15 years, and my parents also both worked in education--it’s a family thing!
-
I love lists of all kinds, and I keep them organized in my bullet journal (more about that on this blog)!
-
You’ll find me in heaven with either a cup of coffee or glass of wine, a slice of pizza or bowl of fruit!
-
I love to read, but I stopped for awhile because I thought I was too busy. I’ve realized recently that there’s always time for a good book.
-
I love decorating my home, and visit consignment shops and websites to find just the right piece.
-
I love to crochet and needlepoint. I limit myself to two crafts, because there’s just no time for more.
-
I love simplicity, if it means culling what we don’t need and finding just the right item to bring form and function to our lives!
