In less than three months, we'll usher in a new year, but I'm not quite ready to say good-bye to 2023. I have specific goals I'd like to meet in the next two months so that I can enjoy the holiday season rather than stress over looming projects.
My word for 2023 is connectedness. I started out strong with scheduled phone calls with friends. This summer we spent two weeks visiting several extended family members in different regions of the country. But work has been busy this fall, and therefore, I've been slacking. I need to get back on track and connect with others.
Goal #1: Connect with a few friends over lunch or with a phone call.
In the spring, I set out organizational goals for the rest of the year. Since then, I've accomplished one of them — I'm very proud my husband and I tackled our basement storage area. In August, we went through tubs of random items and keepsakes and were able to purge enough stuff to eliminate five tubs, which made a noticeable difference. I recently donated several piece of furniture and home decor that we had taking up space in our basement and garage. It felt great to let all of that go!
However, I still haven't gone through our bedroom closet. I've donated clothes and accessories here and there, but I really need to spend an afternoon thinning out the racks and shelves. It's long overdue.
Goal #2: Clean out and organize my closet.
Lastly, I'd like to read at least four more books this year. My 2023 reading total is pretty weak right now and I need motivation. If I write this for all to see perhaps I will accomplish it!
Goal #3: Read at least four more books.
Do you have any goals you want to accomplish before 2024?
