Monday Musings: Mother's Day

This week is Mother's Day! I feel so fortunate to have my mom near us and part of our everyday lives. My children know her and feel close to her, and she sees us at our best and worst. We are there for her, and she for us. For many, many years we lived far apart, and I appreciate the proximity so much more because of that.

I know this is not the case for many, and I am thankful. For those with and without moms in your life, for those who are mothers, and for those who provide guidance or care for another--Happy Mother's Day. If this day and week is hard, you are not alone. We wish you all joy and comfort, and for whatever makes this week a positive one for you.

“He didn't realize that love as powerful as your mother's for you leaves its own mark.”

― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

"It’s the curse of motherhood. You’re required to love us even when we vex you." —Julia Quinn, The Duke and I

“Because even if the whole world was throwing rocks at you, if you had your mother at your back, you’d be okay. Some deep-rooted part of you would know you were loved. That you deserved to be loved.” ―Jojo Moyes, One Plus One
