Summer is looming, and I can't wait for the warmer weather, vacations and the kids' more relaxed schedules! Two of my favorite summer traditions are creating a list of books to read, and then enjoying the books at the pool, beach or wherever I find the time to get lost in the pages. I visited one of my favorite local bookstores recently, and it inspired me to create my summer #TBR!
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt - Many have recommended this debut novel to me. It's described as a charming and touching story about a widow's unlikely connection with a giant octopus.
The Women by Kristin Hannah - This one is a coming of age story of women heroes during the Vietnam War. It's received rave reviews and I can't wait to dive into it.
Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez - A romance about a cursed guy and a traveling nurse who end up together for a summer. It's not your typical romance as the reviews suggest it tackles some sensitive and important issues, which is common in a Jimenez book. I've saved this one to read "just for the summer!"
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb - This nonfiction book is a look at a psychotherapist's behind the scenes practice. It's described as an honest and delightful examination of the human condition.
What are you planning to read this summer?
