It's officially summer! Where I'm located, temperatures will reach triple digits this week. Despite the heat, I am excited for summer to be in full-swing. The days are longer, summer travel is underway, summer reading lists are dwindling and get togethers with friends and family are abound!
To kickoff the official summer season, I'm sharing poignant and nostalgic thoughts and quotes on the season.
"Summer has a flavor like no other. Always fresh and simmered in sunshine."
- Oprah Winfrey
"'Come with me,' Mom says. To the library. Books and summertime go together.”
- Lisa Schroeder
"And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow fast in movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with summer."
- F. Scott Fitzgerald
"One benefit of summer was that each day we had more light to read by."
- Jeannette Walls
“It is easy to forget now, how effervescent and free we all felt that summer.”
- Anna Godbersen
Happy Summer!
