With so much going on in the world, I find myself feeling the heaviness of all things I cannot control. The aspects of everyday life I find stressful (after school activity chauffeuring, managing our family's calendar and meal planning) seem rather insignificant compared to the magnitude of Ukrainian families fleeing their home country for refuge and those protecting their country during an unprovoked war.
I've seen several images the last few weeks that spark a plethora of emotions. Some graphic of the war and others display the very best in humans. One image I will never forget is of the train station in Poland where Polish families left their strollers for the Ukrainians refugees arriving tired, hungry and without many possession. Generous acts such as this, I can imagine, offered relief, comfort and hope to the Ukrainians.
As I refocus each day on what's important in my life, I also search for ways I can help the vulnerable in Eastern Europe. Below are organizations that are assisting with the needs of the Ukrainians that I hope you will consider supporting:
When I feel hopeless and helpless and the world seems out of control, I try to do something positive for my family and others.
