Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. For those of us who were alive at the time, it's a day we will always remember in great detail. It's hard to shake the images of destruction, desperation and death. But, we also remember the heroic efforts of first responders and our fellow Americans.
September 11, 2001 and days and weeks afterward were a dark and challenging time for our country. Through tragedy and despair we gained strength and resolve. My reflection from last year still illustrates my continued hope for our nation.
Although the wounds from twenty years ago are not raw, may we never forget those we lost and the millions of lives that have never been the same.
