Top Shelf: Reading List for 2025

It's a new year so we have a new reading list! Hope you enjoy this assortment of book offerings we aspire to finish in 2025!

The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon - Amazon describes it as a gripping historical mystery inspired by the life and diary of Martha Ballard. She was a renowned 18th-century midwife who defied the legal system and became an important part of American history.

All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker - A thriller and love story with rave reviews and a book club favorite. It's described on Amazon as "a novel about what lurks in the shadows of obsession and the blinding light of hope."

The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins - Robbins teaches the readers how to stop wasting energy on what you can't control and focus on what matters. According to Amazon, in the book she shares "relatable stories from her life, research and the work of experts in psychology, neuroscience, relationships, happiness, and ancient wisdom who champion The Let Them Theory."

The Small and the Mighty by Sharon McMahon - McMahon explores the premise that the most remarkable Americans are often ordinary people. She shares the stories of "history’s unsung characters and brings their rich, riveting stories to light for the first time," according to Amazon.

I started, but did not finish, Adam Grant's Think Again. It's a compelling book about relearning, rethinking and questioning.

We've loved writing about the concept of hygge and have learned so much from Meik Wiking's previous books. I'd like to read his new book, The Art of Danish Living.

On a less self-improvement track, the third book in Rebecca Yarros' Empyrean series comes out later this month. I will be reading Onyx Storm as soon as it's available!

Happy Reading in 2025!
