I've been reading loads of books of all varieties lately. There are so many great Instagram accounts and resources like Goodreads to find book recommendations. With free or low cost options to obtain books in a moment's notice using a variety of apps, there's no reason not to explore authors in a variety of genres!
I listen to some and read some, and I jump from genre to genre, though I tend to read several in a row before I switch categories. In the last two months, I've read the following genres and books within.
Fantasy/YA:
- Cinder, by Marissa Meyer
- Scarlet, by Marissa Meyer
- Winter, by Marissa Meyer
- Cress, by Marissa Meyer
Romantic Fiction:
- November 9, by Colleen Hoover
- Heart Bones, by Colleen Hoover
- Part of Your World, by Abby Jimenez
- Life's Too Short, by Abby Jimenez
- Flying Solo, by Linda Holmes
- The Friend Zone, by Abby Jimenez
Nonfiction:
- Work Optional, by Tanja Hester (inexpensive on Kindle right now!)
The standout of this bunch is definitely Part of Your World, by Abby Jimenez. It's my favorite of all her books, and actually prompted a rereading of The Friend Zone because I enjoy her writing style so much. And for those parents with a teen in the family, I highly recommend the Marissa Meyer Lunar Chronicles series. They had good character development and creatively integrated fairy tale elements.
