Samantha's Favorites from 2021:
This year I read 30 books (28 new books and two rereads). I tracked all books I finished on the #Goodreads app, which was very helpful. Most of my choices were fiction, however, I read more nonfiction in 2021 than I have the last two years. In 2022, I look forward to reading the most recent books by Emily Giffin and Colleen Hoover.
Below are a few of my favorites -- I reviewed some of them on And She Writes:
The Simple Wild by K.D. Tucker (Review)
Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson
She Come By It Natural: Dolly Parton and the Women Who Lived Her Songs by Sarah Smarsh
The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis (Review)
The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd
Fair Play: A Game-Changing Solution for When You Have Too Much to Do by Eve Rodsky (Review)
Beach Read by Emily Henry
Fay's Favorites in 2021:
I just barely accomplished my reading goal this year; I finished my 24th book the afternoon of December 31st! I even texted Samantha when I did it! I read just one nonfiction book this year, so I set a goal for three in 2022. I did read several series, which may be why I didn't deviate much out of fiction this year. Here are some of my recommendations with links to reviews where available!
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens (Review)
The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren (Review)
The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis (Samantha's Review)
The Hollywood Spy by Susan Elia MacNeal (Review)
Winter Street Series by Elin Hilderbrand (Review)
The Guest List by Lucy Foley
