Tuesday Morning Tidy: Baked Chick Peas Snack

This is one of my favorite homemade healthy snacks. The baked chicken peas have a nutty savory flavor. They are easy to make but have a short shelf life.

Ingredients:

1 can of chick peas

Extra virgin olive oil

Garlic Powder

Cayenne Pepper

Directions:

First, drain and rinse the chick peas. Let them dry spread out on a dish towel for a couple of hours.

Next, spread the peas out on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle with garlic powder, lightly cover with cayenne pepper (be mindful on how much kick you want) and then drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Mix peas on the sheet so they are coated evenly. (It’s important that the peas are covered in EVOO.)

Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for five minutes. Mix peas on the cookie sheet and put back in the oven for another five minutes. Continue this every two minutes until the desired crispness is reached.

Let cool and enjoy!

*Store leftovers in a glass container. Will remain fresh for about 24 hours.
