Today's post was supposed to be a kitchen update. But the reality of DIY (and even professional updates) is that things don't always go as planned. The good news is that we really are almost finished with our kitchen update and nothing major has gone awry; it's just not finished yet!
So, I'll be back in a few weeks with a finished kitchen update. In the meantime, I wanted to share what our life is like right now while we're in the midst of this fairly major project. This is our reality while trying to squeeze in tiling and plumbing around work and kids' activities.
We've eaten more fast food and takeout in two weeks than we normally eat in two months!
There is laundry EVERYWHERE. Somehow it's actually clean, but we haven't gotten around to putting it away. In fact, there are two baskets in the family room and a bunch of sock matches on the couch. But we're going to school and work clean.
I really try to get 7 hours of sleep each night. But after working on the kitchen all day/evening, we still want to wind down with TV or reading. So, we've been getting less sleep than normal.
My workout routine is off! I've used some lunch breaks to run out and pick up DIY supplies rather than take a walk or bike. I'm really looking forward to making the most of warm afternoons to take some walks when I have remote days.
As one might say, this too shall pass. In fact, despite the busy season of school and work, we're taking this extra project in stride! And we're so excited about the progress and improvements to our 30 year-old kitchen. I'm pretty sure this new sink is going to change my life!
