In the new year, I'm in search of healthy alternatives to foods I really enjoy. I love everything bagels, and I came across HealthyU_Dietitian's High Protein Bagels recipe last week and we made them over the weekend. They are a low-carb, high protein and gluten-free!
Ingredients:
1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
2 cups of almond flour
egg wash
everything seasoning or desired spices
Directions:
Mix the yogurt and almond flour together in a bowl. Roll into 3-4 inch small balls and use a wooden spoon's handle to poke holes into them. Flatten the balls a bit and then egg wash each side and sprinkle with seasonings. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Yields 6 bagels.
You can toast them and layer with cream cheese or use them to make an egg/egg salad sandwiches.
