What I'm Loving: Dining Al Fresco

While it may still be hot in your neck of the woods, we are all getting closer to those cooler evenings that start to happen in August and September. It's the perfect time of year to dine outside! And while I love a night out as much as the next girl, we tend to spend at least one evening a week eating outside in our backyard. So, I've put together all the items that will make your patio, porch or balcony the perfect spot for dining al fresco!

Keep the bugs away! If you're going to eat, and especially if you're hosting, you have to keep the bugs away from your food. There are three essential tools:

Set the table. There are so many beautiful options in melamine dishes. The ones we have were a Mother's Day gift years ago, but I like these as well:

Make sure they're dishwasher safe and you stock up on bowls for salads and plates for entrees. Some acrylic glassware is also handy to have.

Make it moody! A few lanterns (Ikea has great ones!), strands of lights and decorative outdoor pillows can enhance the atmosphere of your outdoor space. As it gets darker earlier, mood lighting can allow you to use your space more often and for longer periods of time as well.

For the cost of one dinner out, you can set up your outdoor space for seasons to come!
