The holidays are upon us. With Halloween a distant memory, the election results nearly finalized and Thanksgiving right around the corner, there is much to do.
Every year around this time, we create a series of gift guides. In order for this to be both fun for you and for us, we like to switch it up each year.
For 2024, we're planning a "Book Lovers Gift Guide," "Hostess Gift Guide," "Crafty Kids Guide," "Hygge Guide" and so much more.
Before we kick this off next week, we wanted to share some of our favorite guides from previous years.
Gift Guide for Families:
Games - These bookshelf games are a little pricey but provide gift-giving opportunities for years to come, building on a collection.
This JBL speaker is great at the pool or around the firepit on family vacation.
A S'more basket, filled with marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate bars and these S'more skewers would make a great hostess or holiday gift.
Movies or movie tickets are always appreciated, and we typically find ourselves at the theater during the holidays.
I love popcorn! This Popcorn kit would be perfect for my family, with the seasoning and kernal varieties.
Are you shopping for an active family? Maybe a trendy pickleball set would make a fun gift!
Gift Family PJ's for Christmas morning or to watch holiday movies throughout the month. If it's hard to determine sizes for everyone (kids grow so fast!), matching holiday socks are fun too.
Gift Guide for the Office:
Gift cards--Is there a local pizza or coffee shop? Then, even smaller increment gift cards can be nice. When in doubt, Starbucks is always appreciated and works for colleagues in other locations.
If you've got a smaller group to shop for, these warming coffee mugs might be in the budget, and would definitely be an early morning luxury.
A mug filled with candy is office-appropriate and generic enough for all.
Beverages -- Wine, coffee or tea (depending on the individual). I think these Lavazza coffee bags and tea tin are festive!
A thoughtfully-written card, especially one supporting a charity, is a great way to support an organization. These are frequently created by arts organizations, such as this set from The Art Institute of Chicago.
Local chocolates or molded chocolates can be wrapped beautifully and very giftable. If you're feeling really ambitious, you could even make them yourself.
It's always hard to find the right gifts for colleagues, but gestures small or large can make the holidays brighter in the office!
Gift Guide for Men:
Tie Bar - You can find Tie Bar stores in large cities like New York City, Boston and Chicago, but their website is just as impressive with an extensive selection of dress shirts, ties, socks, cufflinks and so much more. If you can't find what you're looking for, you can always purchase a gift card!
Letterjoy subscription - Do you have a history buff on your Christmas list? This may be the perfect, unique subscription. They will receive real, reproduced historic letters from famous figures.
Sonos - We have these powerful, compact speakers throughout our home. You can operate them from an app on your phone, and there is minimal setup required.
Roots Sweatpants - A classic! These comfortable sweats from Canada come in a variety of fits and colors.
Stonewall Kitchen Chicken & Pork Rub - A perfectly delicious stocking stuffer for the chef!
Bombas socks - They may be a little pricey, but they hug your foot and don't stretch out. They come in all styles from kids to adults, no-show to knee-high, neutrals to brights. Plus, for every sock you purchase, they donate a pair to a homeless shelter. Win-win.
Goodr Sunglasses- They offer polarized, UV protected lenses as well as frames in several different colors and designs. A perfect, affordable gift.
Traeger Grill and Accessories - More on why we love the Traeger grill here!
Patagonia Better Sweater - The guy in your life will have this gift forever! Quarter or full-zip, this one will have him outfitted for a hike in the woods (or, you know, ready to walk the dog).
Yeti Rambler - Perfect for keeping that Christmas eggnog nice and cold.
Mike's Hot Honey - This stuff is great on cornbread, pepperoni pizza and chicken wings! For $10, you can get one for all the guys in your life!
Adult Legos - There are some insane new kits out there to bring out the kid in him! This Iron Man Art Set could be great for these upcoming cold winter months.
Alexander Hamilton - If you're really looking for something to keep him occupied during the next few months, Ron Chernow's biography (at over 700 pages) will do the trick. This #1 New York Times Bestseller inspired the hit musical, so it's a great gift if he's already a fan!
Seamus Golf Ball Marks - These fun stocking stuffers are available with favorite collegiate or NBA teams and are handmade in Oregon. There are also some unique bag tags and club covers available for the golfer in your family.
Stay tuned next week when we kick off our 2024 Gift Guides!
