With a return to our normal busy routines, I’m trying to regain my focus on healthier snacking. I’ve got a few new favorites but my eyes are "peeled" for more to add. I think that having a variety of options is what can turn healthy snacking from a phase to a real habit.
I always keep seasonal fruit in the house. This time of year, nectarines top the list! They are just so good. I also buy two lbs of strawberries each week, and wash and cut them on Sundays.
When I'm going for convenience, I keep a Solely fruit jerky in my bag. The only ingredient in most flavors is the fruit itself and they are delish. I prefer the pineapple and mango. They are occassionally in my local grocery stores, or I order them online from Target. If you want to try out the different flavors to find your favorite, this is the variety pack I started with:
Another Target online find is a healthier dessert option. These dark chocolate and sea salt Quinoa Crisps with just six ingredients are really rich and crunchy! While of course they're no nectarine, I find them very satisfying for an after dinner treat.
Another sweet treat that I pick up from time to time at either Costco or Trader Joe's are dried tangerines. Costco has a huge bag available that I just polished off! While the dried fruit is dusted with sugar, I find that just a small handful of them can curb a sweet craving pretty quickly.
I'm currently rounding out my snacking with cheese and almonds, but I need more ideas! Share what you've been snacking on with us on Instagram!
