I was a little late to notice the John Derian collection at Target last Thanksgiving, so I was thrilled to see that he was designing one again this year! While I admired all of the Halloween trays and decor, hosting Thanksgiving is a huge annual tradition for us, and I was eager to add to my collection of dishes and trays for the event!
John Derian's style is vintage, quirky, and full of detail. He is a designer known for decoupage and his home goods. This seasonal line for Target makes his unique style available at a lower price point without losing his special style.
As you can see, the pieces are large--wider than my table runner! This turkey tray is 19" by 14" with a beautiful vintage look that will go well with all of our neutral and jewel tone linens. The corn bowl is also large and can be used year-round for veggies. Our guests all bring a side dish, so it will be nice to have the extra serving pieces to present the items that others prepare.
A few of my other favorite pieces are this giant beaded turkey pillow ($40), and the more neutral acorn pillow (only $15). They're a little unusual, for sure, but that's the charm of this whole line! If you're really feeling it, he creates other unique pillows available here.
The candles are also full of character, especially the turkey and these asparagus tapers.
