What I'm Loving: Nora Fleming Minis

Updated: Nov 22, 2020

If you enjoy decorating for the seasons, and you love the little things, then let me tell you about Nora Fleming.

I first discovered this collection at a bridal shower for a coworker several years ago. Someone gifted her this pretty, white ceramic tissue box. It was nice, and classic, but the oohs and aahs came when she opened what is known as a “mini.” A mini is a small (two-three inch) ceramic object that can be added to a Nora Fleming piece to customize it for a season, holiday or celebration.

The Nora Fleming bases come in white stoneware, melamine or walnut and include serving trays, pedestals and kitchen decor. They range in price, with most in the $30-$50 range. I have the stoneware utensil crock, and love that I can display my minis everyday in a functional way.

Now comes the fun part--the huge array of minis! There is a great selection of holiday minis, and minis for celebrations from weddings to gameday! New designs are released regularly, and each mini costs about $14 (though there are a few exceptions).

Currently in my utensil crock is Mr. Squirrel, and his golden acorn may make him my favorite mini to date! The green wellies and the (retired) hockey skates are almost as sweet, and the navy anchor is awfully pretty.

I tend to decorate with seasonal minis rather than specific holiday minis, so my collection includes the “chillin’ chair” for summer and “frosty pal” snowman in winter. I have received them all as gifts from my kiddos, and it’s always fun (and easy) to swap them out as the seasons change.

If you have a friend or family member for whom you regularly purchase gifts, one of the bases would make a great holiday gift, and make future gift-giving easy! You can find these at boutique shops using the store locator feature, and it’s easy to pick up last-minute minis on Amazon.
