What I'm Loving: Walks & Audiobooks

When life gets stressful, and I have a hard time unwinding, a long walk with my AirPods and an audiobook can usually settle my mind. I haven't always been an audiobook enthusiast. Since they are more accessible now thanks to a slew of apps, they have become a bigger part of my reading repertoire, and I am very grateful for it.

We are also in the midst of my favorite season for walks. The weather is mild, the days are longer and the excitement for blooming flowers and green grass has me all warm inside! And, it's my busiest time of the year at work and home so I need this source of joy more than ever.

Check out my recent favorite audiobooks for long walks:

Ready or Not by Cara Bastone — An unexpected pregnancy and unexpected love with a childhood friend (who isn't the baby's daddy) have Eve rethinking her life and love in all its forms.

Tom Lake by Ann Patchett — A beautifully written story that takes place in the early months of COVID in 2020. With her three grown daughters at home from college, a mother retells the story of her captivating, mesmerizing and unlikely life before marrying their father and starting a family. The characters, setting and writing are exquisite.

Castle of Water by Dane Huckelbridge — Captivating, heart-wrenching and beautifully written, this piece of fiction explores the power or survival, love and family.

You, With a View by Jessica Joyce — A long road trip with her high school nemesis, Theo, while following her beloved grandmother's story of love and loss, has turned Noelle Shepard's world upside down.
